Strange problem!

I posted this question already more than a month ago, but the problem is
still there and I got no answer, so I am trying again :)

As of mid August, a lot of similar messages of level Information appear in
the Event Viewer at startup of PC. Every single day the same happens: at PC
startup, for every application I have installed, one event (Id.1035)
appears, with the following text:

Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: <the product name>
Product Version: <product version> Product Language: 1033. Reconfiguration
success or error status: 0.

Apart from filling up the EV and making the startup last much longer,
nothing else seems to be wrong.

Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this?

Sorry, but there is not enough information here to do anything with?

When you are in the Event Viewer, double click one of these error messages
and then click the Copy button at the bottom of the dialog box. This will
copy the error message the the clipboard. Paste the error details in a reply
here.

Here goes. Please note these are just a couple of examples. There is one
such message for most of the applications I have ever installed. And these
pile up every day at startup. The same lot every day. The level of message
is not error, it's information. So, a couple of examples. Here goes one:

Well, the good news is that these informational messages are nothing to
worry about since they do not show any errors. The bad news is that I have
no idea why these messages would be generated everytime you start the
system?

You might want to perform a Disk Cleanup and get rid of all the Temporary
files on the system. Go to Start and type Disk Cleanup and in the
results, click Disk Cleanup. Select to clean files for all users. The
program will check the status of all the temporary files and then show a
dialog where you can select the files to be deleted. Check everything there
and click OK.

For the record: as of yesterday (10-28) this has stopped! Looked in the
Windows Update history, and noticed that the day before the following was
installed: Windows update software 7.0.6000.381. The reliability monitor is
more specific and is listing two items: Windows update Aux (partial) and
Windows Update Core (partial). Go figure.
