Hello,

I just finished having to reformat and re-install WinXP
Pro. I also installed Norton AV 2002. The problem is that
MyComputer, MyNetworkPlaces, and RecycleBin won't work
(they worked earlier but stopped after I scanned my hard
drive--I think that's about when it happened. I am in
classic view but I still have the same problem in
standard view (or whatever it is called). I can make
other shortcuts and, except for the 3 previously
mentioned, they all seem to work.

When I try to double click on those 3 icons all the icons
and the taskbar on my entire desktop blink out for a few
moments and then they blink back in--but nothing opens. I
can make a shortcut for some other programs like notepad
and calculator and they will work but no matter what I
can think of to do, MyComputer, MyNetworkPlaces, and
RecycleBin won't work. They won't even work if I try to
access them from the START menu. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Richard Silver

I believe that NAV 2002 is not compatible with Windows XP without a
patch. Go to Symantec's site and download it. Check out their tech
support while you're there for further instructions.
