Strange Problem!

I am working on Win2K Pro for quite some time now. Today I experienced a unique problem with my CD drives. One of them is a CD-RW & the other one is the usual CD-ROM. When I inserted a CD that was written using the CD-RW in the CD-ROM drive, it showed the correct contents of the CD. "My Computer" also showed the correct name of the CD but when I inserted the same CD in the CD-RW drive, the contents weren't the same; even the name of the CD got changed in "My Computer"!

I couldn't figure out whether the problem lies with either or both the CD drives (the chances of happening so being remote) or something's wrong with Win2K due to which the CD-RW is not able to read the contents of the CD? Or is something wrong with the CD? The last doubt is because of the fact that this abnormal problem comes up only when I use one particular CD!

Thanks,

Arpan

Close the disc with your CDRW using your favourite burning software. I think
this will solve your query.

Denis, I couldn't exactly understand what do you mean by "close the disc WITH your CD-RW using your favourite burning software"? Are you suggesting me to close the disc OF (& not WITH) my CD-RW with a burning software? If so, how will that help me out? Or have I interpreted your suggestion wrongly?

Thanks for your advice,

Regards,

Arpan

Suspect the problem lies in either open UDF format or a Multisession
disc that hasn't been closed. Only you may know what happened and how
you did this.

Thanks, Bob, for your suggestion but how do I rectify the problem assuming that either of the two reasons you have put forth is causing the problem? First of all, how do I find out whether the problem lies in the open UDF format or an unclosed Multi-Session disc?

To be very honest, my know-how on this subject is highly limited.....so please bear with me!

Thanks once again,

Regards,

Arpan

Put the disc back in the PC it was created in and open the software you
were using, then look in "Help" for "Closing sessions" or "Finalizing" etc.
