From earlier posts, My computer started acting funny when I returned from
Vacation. I could not connect to the internet, could not delete a program,
could not shut down gracefully, could not run any "system" type programs, and
noticed that the computer browser service was "stuck" stopping. I have
performed a repair install on XP and can not get pst the "Windows needs to be
initialized" prompt. Funny thing was I tried my old hard drive from that
computer (took it out about two months ago) and it is doing (or not doing as
the case may be) the same things. Tried changing memory, no luck. Im
befuddled. is it software or hardware... how do I fix....

Can not get to safe mode. Since doing the repair install I need to
"authenticate" windows and as it won't connect, I can't go there. If I
answer to authenticate later it crashes.

Can not get to safe mode, wants to initialize windows and since I can not
connect, It won't go. Same with the old drive. The old drive boots and I
can get a desktop but cant really do much else.
