Strange POST

An elderly friend was given a home built Biostar NF325-A7 mobo system.
It is stopping every POST and I can't find why. It stops at the first POST
screen (after the Biostar splash screen) with the bios info (AwardBIOS
v6.00PG
mobo info, main processor (AMD 64 3000+), Memory Testing (524288K OK)
and then the IDE channels.

There is only one hdd (on IDE channel 0 Master) and a cd (on IDE channel 1
Master).

There is no floppy and IDE channel 2 Master says None.
with Floppy disk(s) fail (40)one

The page stops here and gives several F options.
F8 to Enable System Configuration
F9 to select booting device after POST
F1 to continue, DEL to enter SETUP.

How do I stop the POST from stopping at this point????

Press delete.
Disable checking for the floppy drive or choose "stop on no errors".
Press F10 to save and exit.

if no floppy drive in the machine, then disable floppy in the bios.

Thanks, did that. That got rid of the stop.
