Strange missing My Computer icon

I've lost MY COMPUTER icon and every referance to it.

I've lost My Computer icon.

If i right click display, properties, desktop, customise then the icon is
greyed out.

I've tried tweak,

I've tried right click start, properties customise then the icon is greyed
out.

I had a virus last week which I presume is the cause, does anyone know if I
can adjust or add to the registry settings to get it back.

Which icon is grayed out? You actually need to put a checkmark near "My Computer" box.

Have you lost it under the "Start" menu (button) too?

If not, try clicking on "Start", right click on "My Computer" in the right
hand list and then select "show on desktop"
