Dave

When I truned on my computer a message came up and told
me "Checking File Systems on C:
The type of file on your system is NFTS
One of your disks may need to be checked for
consistancy"
Then it preformed a check and went on its way.
I would like to know what this is, and is there anything
wrong with my computer?

If it went on without stating any problem you are okay. Sometimes if your
computer did not shutdown properly it could create this problem but the fact
it went on means it found no problem. Shutdown the system one more time to
see if the problem repeats itself. If not don't worry about it.

This happened to me as well the other day. I found the
chkdisk log in the event viewer. I haven't got a clue as
to what any of this means, but it hasn't happened again.
Interestingly, I performed a checkdisk two days prior to
this, and the report was nothing like this one.

One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You
may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended
that you continue.
Windows will now check the disk.
