strange menu

Okay here's the problem...
When i click on "My computer" via START button, a window rightly opens up
showing my "shared documents","drives", etc. If i point to drive C, right
click , it gives me a drop-down menu, with a list of options in the order 1)
open, 2) explore, 3) search. This seems proper to me. BUT when i point to
the "shared documents" folder and right-click, the drop-down menu is in a
different order, that is 1) search,2)Print directory listing 3)open 4)explore.

I am tired of not being able to double-click on a folder to get it to
open, like it used to do.Instead it open the search window. Anyone know what
has happened?

This is a real common problem.

Try this first.

Click Start | Click Run | Type or paste the following line:

regsvr32 /i shell32

Click OK.

A tip from David Candy.

If that doesn't fix it, see these...
