I've got plenty of installed XP home but for one of them,
I receiev unusual Logon/Logoff screens, not the norma lXP
one with a (selected) picture, my account name and the
white field for the password.
Instead I get a "frame" at logon time and a "frame" when
login off that has a pull-down for selecteing what to do
rather than the standard 'Shut down' , 'Restar' and 'Log
off' icons.
Does anyone know how I can get rid of these 2 and get the
normal layout instead, the XP version is one of the
earlier but all service packs etc applied.

Any hints appreciated

Backis,

Enable the Welcome Screen via Control Panel, User accounts:

From Control Panel, double-click User accounts
Click Change the way users log on or off
Enable "Use the Welcome Screen" box and click Apply button

If you're using a third-party GINA or if your system is a connected to a
domain, Welcome Screen will be unavailable.
