Strange IE6 Behavior When Saving Pictures From Web.

MusicPost

I often save jpeg and gif format pictures from web pages, such as
album art to store with my MP3's, etc... However, when I right-click
a jpeg and select "Save Picture As" the only file type option is
bitmap within the "Save As Type" drop-dopwn box. Previously, the
options would include .jpg, .gif, etc... Now, the file can only be
saved as a ".bmp" extension even if it's not, and I have to use a file
conversion utility to restore it to the original graphics file type.

I've looked at the more general file-associations registed for windows
and they are fine. Graphics and picture files of all types open just
fine from non IE6 applecations.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help,

MP

The usual fix is to clear your cache.
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

That seems to work about 98% of the time but if it doesn't, close IE
and reopen and do it again. Also it has been reported that clear
cookies helps, but ensure you save any that you need.
