Strange IE white page - not error

Hi,
I have a few new computers I am settin up in our office (dell optiplex).
They're set up was fine and i did the same set up for all of them but i am
having trouble opening any web page on 2 of them.. It doesn't get to an error
page or anything, it just seems to hang and stay white. These computers are
in the network, can access evrything, have an valid ip, gateway and can ping
the firewall. Any ideas? like i said it doesn't seem to be a connection
error since i never get any page to come back. No matter what site i try to
go to it shows "connecting to 206.124.**.
***", that goes away and says "done" page is completely white.

Thank You for any help.
Matt

Okay PA Bear, how do i do that? And i will do that next time. Thanks.

But this is not spyware or virus. I have just taken the computer out of the
box, joined my Domain and everything is fine except for IE, i have no virus
loose in the network, the other new computers are fine except for this and
one other. It lloks like its opening IE, it will hang and no page appers. I
try to go to tools - internet options but it will not open. I right click on
the IE icon and i can get there but it looks good.

I know it may seem at 1st read like a virus/spyware but this is something
else wrong in IE, i can always try to load a new version, i guess, but i
would really like to find out why this happened for future resolutions.

Thanks,
Matt

Unless you took care of /everything/ on the following page before otherwise
connecting the machines to the 'net (e.g., to browse or check email)...

....it's probably a hijackware/Trojan problem, Matt.

Post the full IP, please.

Are the machines on a network? ...behind a proxy?

If you must make identical posts to multiple newsgroups,
please cross-post one (1) message to all of them. Thank you.

This Subject's not identical to the first one.
(space between page and the hyphen.
That's why OE isn't grouping them.)

? OE won't group messages in different groups together (if by that you mean
mark as read in all groups when read in one), even with identical subjects,
unless they are cross-posted *and* the user uses 'synchronise account'
before entering each group.

If they are cross posted you don't have to synchronize. If you read it in
one group it will be marked as read when you enter the next group.

Then something's changed. It used to be that OE did not make the connection
between cross-posted messages unless 'synchronise' was used. Simply
entering a group and downloading headers is not suffient for OE to be able
to tie the messages together.

It has always worked for me from at least OE5, if not OE4.. If I read the
message in one group it will be marked as read in all other grouups in that
account.

Unusual. It has never worked for me if I simply go into one group, let the
headers download, then read, then go to another newsgroup, allow the headers
to download and read. It has only ever worked if I use 'synchronise' to
download headers before going into a newsgroup.

Been wondering about that. Am wondering if I simply subscribe to too many
groups ;o)

I have my OE newsgroups in one msnews account and my IE groups in another.
The marking as read does not cross the line between accounts, so if someone
crossposts to ie6_outlookexpress and ie6.browser I get to read it twice.
