Strange icon in the system tray

Fuzzy Logic

Occaisionally I get a yellow triangle icon with an exclamation mark showing
up in my system tray. Clicking on the icon causes it to go away. Any ideas
where this is coming from and what it's supposed to signify?

TIA...Bob

That's usually the result of a USB peripheral being unplugged prior
to being stopped.

A Warning or notification but it could be about many things.

Try hovering your mouse pointer over it- no clicking- does it show anything?
Try a right click .....see what options get offered. Watch when it happens,
it may be after an update- virus, windows, if your updates are auto watch
what happens or check update times/dates applied..... In short, be
observant and look for clues.

I rarely use USB (I have a flash drive but haven't used it for months).

Next time it happens (it's very rare) I need to remember not to click on it
and see if I can get some more info out of it. I was hoping someone had seen
this before and had some idea what it might be. Thanks.

I've seen this before, if it is indeed a yellow triangle with a red
exclamation point inside of it. The Event Viewer should have it logged as an
error detected on the hard drive. The advice is to run Check Disk to correct
the error.
