Hello,
A new icon appeared on desktop y'day and I dont know
where its come from or what to do about it! I'm scared to
click on it incase something horrible happens to
computer. When I hover mouse over it, it says its a file
and that its 174KB.Ive scanned it with avg which comes up
clean. Also,when I go in2 Task Manager SVCHOST.EXE is
listed about 6 times though I have latest patches and
have scanned whole system with avg and have also ran the
WELCHIA removal tool and that didnt detect it. I disabled
system restore prior to running welchia tool as advised,
but as SVCHOST is still coming up in task manager I dont
know if I should swith it back on?
I would really appreciate any help or advice as Im now
really worried that something awful has been downloaded
on2 my computer. Thanx in advance. From Tracy

Hi Tracy,

if the file is a temp backup of your address book, you can change the
extension to wab and then open it. It's not meant to be opened directly, as
it's only a temp backup.

Don't really know much about Welchia. But svchost.exe will normally have
more than one instance running, depending on which services are running.

Also, it's perfectly normal to have a lot of SCVHOST.EXE listed in the task
manager.

.
Diggy, Cheers for that. Panicked because had email from
isp with a list of .EXE files that had to look for in
task manager!! Tracy
