Strange file on desktop

I'm still breaking in a new laptop, and have noticed a
file with the simple name of ~ that keeps reappearing on
my desktop. I delete it and it shows up again. Properties
show that it's about 280 kb's.

It is a duplicate of your addressbook, a bug that hasn't
been fixed yet. You can ignore it or delete it.
