Strange Error with Outlook Connector

Having re-installed Connector Version 12.0.4518.1063 to get over earlier
problems, it seems to be working OK. However, when I look at the detailed
Server Report, on the one hand it states for example - Signed in
successfully at 22/10/2007 16:11:48

Mail: Last successfully refreshed at 18:54.

Calendar: Last successfully refreshed at 18:54.

Contacts: Last successfully refreshed at 18:54

On the other hand this is followed by this error for each synchronisation:
Time: 22/10/2007 18:54:37
Error in Mail
There is an error synchronizing your mail account. Please verify your
account has been configured correctly by first accessing your mail on the web.
Error: 4102. Client. Syntax Error in the request.

I have tried, as it suggests, to use the mail on the web but it makes no
difference.
Thus, it seems to be working, getting and sending mail, but not working. Any
ideas anybody?

I tried the e-mail support but they advised that I need to use a special
link for Outlook Connector. However, to get to be able to send an e-mail or
to chat with someone about Outlook Connector, you have to enter the product
ID (it could not be auto-detected and when I put in the a-typical Product ID
from 'About' in Connector, I was told that this was not of the correct
format. I also tried the Outlook product ID, which is in the correct format,
but that was not accepted as the Product ID for Connector. I am thus unable
to comply with the Microsoft eligibility checks even though everything I
have is genuine. I could use one of the 2 support requests on my MSDN
subscription but that seems a bit drastic for this. When I talked to the
MSDN people, they suggested trying the Communities, hence this post.

By the way, I am using Outlook 2007 (in Office 2007 Professional Plus) on
Vista Ultimate.

Further to this, another error spontaneously appeared in that Contacts would
not connect and this slowed down my send/receive times significantly while
Connector tried to connect. I then discovered that Hotmail allows you to
forward all e-mails received to another e-mail address. I have now set that
up to send all Hotmail e-mails to my conventional e-mail address and
uninstalled Outlook Connector. My send/receive in Outlook is now back to
normal. Outlook Connector was just proving to be more trouble than it is
worth.

I only found one other post about this issue from back in September and there
was no real answer found; for one person it just started working again one
day so they figured the problem must have been on the Hotmail end. Sorry you
couldn't get it to work for you...it's working fine for me, but as with all
things, everyone has a unique PC configuration so the problem could lie just
about anywhere.

Thanks for your help, I am happy for now at least without Connector. I may
try it again sometime.

I have a Hotmail Plus Account that is enabled and the outlook 2007 connector
has been working fine until yesterday, 10/29/2007. Does anyone know the cause
of this or have been able to overcome this issue?

Thanks.

Since you pay MSN for the account, the first place to check is with their
support staff.

I started to get same error today on one of my Live Plus accounts:

Error in Mail
There is an error synchronizing your mail account. Please verify your
account has been configured correctly by first accessing your mail on the web.
Error: 4102. Client. Cannot change immutable data: MessageClass.

Tried to uninstall Connector, install again, delete and resync account, but
with no luck.

hi all,

i have got the same problem. i guess it is due to an upgrade in server app
of hotmail from version 11.x to 12.0 (see part of hotmail URL
"ApplicationMain_12.0.1190.0927" which might not be compatible with outlook
connector.

Well, Windows Live Mail Beta and WLM on Windows Mobile 6 phone both receive
Inbox/Sent items well, "only" Outlook 2007 w/ Outlook Connector is making
problems (again).

Too bad users with Windows Mobile devices cannot use anything else.. I might
add I am using Windows Live Custom Domains. There have been a lot of problems
within last month :(

I have the exact same error. It began between 9:34 PM yesterday, October 29
and 9:21 AM today, October 30. New messages are posted in the account and I
can read them from IE (using the Live Mail) and also from my Windows Mobile 5
SmartPhone. However, Outlook never sees them. No joy!

yeah I have the same problem too. I'm not receving any new messages through
outlook anymore, that immutable data, I think i'm about to give outlook up...

I'm getting the same error as well. Is anyone from Microsoft reading this
thread? Any ideas on what happened and when it will be fixed?

Same error 4102 here. MessageClass. Started about the same timeframe as what
others have stated. Doesn't appear to be a fix that I can find. I can SEND
emails from Outlook that filter through the Hotmail account....but as noted
Outlook Pro 2007 is not grabbing the mails from Hotmail account.

Correction patch time frame from MS is????

Thanks,

Jerry

I see that we're not alone, but I no reply from MS?
