Strange error when building report.

I am building a report using a query and the report wizard. Every time I get
to the end I get the error that I have selected too many fields and must
start over and select fewer fields. I have already built one report with
similar information in this same database and just need to build this last
one. I have never gotten an error like this before and I have built bigger
reports than this. What's different now? Anybody know how to fix this? Any
help is appreciated. Thanks, Dawn.

Gina, There are 45 fields in the report. I have already built one with the
exact same fields and I just need to do it again for a different set of
criteria. I rebuilt the query and now need to build the report. Any help you
can offer is appreciated. Thanks, Dawn

Okay, let's try this copy the report and change the RecordSource of the
copied report to your new query. What happens?

I also am curious why you just can't change the criteria of the present
report and just use the same report? Are you using a button to print the
report?

Gina, Thanks. I copied the report and changed the record source and it works
great.
If I were going to be using the database, I would have done as you suggested
and just changed the criteria as needed. But unfortunately, I am building for
another user and she needs something very user friendly. Which translates...
separate reports. Thanks again for your help. Dawn

Dawn,

Glad to help... just a long as it works.

My two cents worth... You could build a menu with a combo box with the
Criteria list and allow the User to make predefined selections from the list
and then click a button to run the report.
