Strange error message

I've been using FP2000 for about 5 years now, but I've never had this problem
before. A site I built 3 years ago (and have made extensive updates and
changes to since) won't let me update it now. Here's the error message I get
when I try to publish:

Server error: Error 2 opening registry key "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared
Tools\Web Server Extensions\Ports\Port80

The site is hosted by Cox. Does this sound like they have changed something
on the server? I have tried updating several other sites that I maintain (on
different servers) and they worked fine.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

First, try this:
Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with Expression Web Designer and
SharePoint Designer support )
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.

See if it helps.

If not, try this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/264922

Steve ~ thank you very much. That worked like a charm! I really didn't want
to edit my registry!
