Strange error and blue screen crashing, anyone know a fix?

DiStef

I'm receiving this error:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/evilpuppy/errormessage6-09.png when I
switch from my upstairs powercord to downstairs and nothing I've found on the
site has given me a reason or fix. I've run virus scan, disk scan,
uninstalled and reinstalled, and the problem is still there. I contacted tech
support and they just gave me the whole spiel about reading articles and
asking here to see if anyone could help, so THAT was a grand dead end too.

Does ANYONE here know if there's there a fix for this?

And on a side note, I'm also having issues when I try to copy or cut
something using right click or keyboard shortcuts. As soon as I try, it
freezes up and hangs, and I have to open task manager to end it before
anything else will work. Is it related or is it something else?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated because

Can you tell us what you did tired and what machine is this and the
Operating ystem version and does this issue occur after clean install or

Please provide details of the manufacturer of the power cord and model?
Do you switch over with the computer switched on?

Are there any other Warning or Error reports in the System or
Application logs in Event Viewer during the last 48 hours?

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

1. That particular error happens when you try to use Search and you are not
online.

2. That is generally due to third party add-ons. You can start your
troubleshooting here:

Right click a blank area on the Desktop/Properties/Appearance
/Effects. In the Effects dialog box, click to clear the: "Use the following
Transition effect for menus and tooltips check box, and ok your way out.
And/or: Click the folder or file that you want (select it) before you
right-click it to display the shortcut menu.

Added info:

Right Click - Error (Line 349) Right hand side
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Right click the Start button, select Properties, Customize. Scroll through
the options on the Advanced tab and put the check mark back in Enable
dragging and dropping.

Enable Right Click Context Menu (Line 56)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

Temporary Decrease in Performance Occurs When You Right-Click a File or
Folder in Windows Explorer

Add-ons:

It depends on where in the right click menu.

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\OpenWithList
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

This is where some items are located.

You can also go to a specific File extension (example:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.txt\ShellNew) and right click on the ShellNew key and
select Delete, if the item shows up in the New context menu.

Other Checkpoints

It depends on where in the right click menu.

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\OpenWithList
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell

I tried a search on the mentioned file name, and ended up here.
e1e5132.sys appears to be part of an Ethernet driver for an Intel
network chip. If the network driver had a problem, that could
potentially cause networking problems, so an attempt to reach
oca.microsoft.com might be failing at the same time.

(Click "Preview" and click "WinXP" to see the file list)

I'm a little curious as to what "switch from my upstairs powercord to downstairs"
means. Did the computer move locations ? Did you change Ethernet cables
which are leading to some networking device ? Or are you using an extremely
long power cord for some reason ? Is the computer properly grounded,
with a three prong plug having continuity to safety ground, on the
third prong ?
