Strange CD Problem

Windows XP Home, Memory 512 MB, Drives DVD-R and CD-R/W.
Problem: I Cannot copy any file to the CD-R/W. It will not recognize the
disk in CD--R/W, comes back with "insert Disk", I click "next" but nothing
happens. It also does not Autorun, or Auto Eject, I can read the existing
files in the disk. Now, if I uninstall either of the drives restart the
computer, then both drives functioning normal I can autostart, copy,
autoeject etc... But, if I restart the computer i am back to the problem.
Meaning that every time I want to use the drives I have to uninstall either
of the drives, restart and so on. Scanned the computer using Ad-aware,
spybot, Symantec anti virus and found nothing.
Hope did not confuse anyone.

mavroudis,

Have they ever worked together correctly? Could be a Master, Slave &
possibly BIOS setup issue.

Drew,

I fix the problem by reinstalling windows XP. Too many corrupted files.

Thanks for your response.
