strange boot-up delay problem

C

chajath

I'm experiencing a long delay (~2min) before the normal window boot-up
procedure is started. During this delay, the normal window boot-up
screen is yet to be loaded. The hard disk (seems to be c:) is
repeatedly accessed, though the noise that I hear is not continuous.
This delay happens even before boot.ini is processed (I know it because
I have multiple OS).

This started to happen when I used Speed Disk to defrag my c:, and had
to stop before it completes. After I see this problem, I went back to
Speed Disk and actually completed defragmentation process. I didn't
help.

Tried a lot of techs I could find on the internet to shorten the boot
delay, but none of them seem to work. (This delay occurs before the
actual windows boot-up process, perhaps?)

Does anyone know what I should do?

Inho Yi did you ever remove spped disk by the way. This seems to have
caused the damage (This started to happen when I used Speed Disk to
defrag my c:, and had
to stop before it completes)
You may want to repost your question. At least we know your drive is
okay I would run a repair install http://www.windowsreinstall.com/ good
luck to you.
