Strange and empty Directory

B

Bob S

I recently upgraded to XP Pro (with SP1) and have installed all of the
updates since. Since then I have noticed a strange directory which is empty.
It is entitled:

c:\Documents and Settings\DRF015~1~BOB\LOCALS~1\Temp.
I have used no abbreviations in these directory names, and each of these
directories is empty. My normal temporaty directory is:
c:\Documents and Settings\Dr. Bob Singleton\Local Settings\Temp

So, I have deleted them a few times. But they keep coming back.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this annoyance?

Thank you.

I have a directory named "TEMP" on my C drive where I download everything
and I have never had a problem. I am wondering why you have it 5
subdirectories down. When I open Windows Explorer I have a narrow
left column since I don't use long names. This ensures me of a large
main window and less scrolling. Perhaps you've even confused your
computer. :)

Thatis a normal window action. That ~s are abbreviations of the
files/folders in the legace 8.3 mode.
