Storing files on to an SD card

Hi
I normally store my cds on to my computer using either Windows Media Player
or iTunes. I have recently acquired an mp3 player that plays the music
through an SD card, but on downloading music from the computer to it I find
that my mp3 player says "No music on card"

Please can anyone advise me what I am doing wrong?

Perhaps there are directories on the card, and your player only looks in the
root directory?

Try copying the MP3 files using two instances of Explorer rather than
"downloading". Be sure to have the Folders pane visible, so that you can
check any directory structure. (You could also use one instance of Total
Commander or a similar Explorer replacement.)

Sounds like the player is not recognising the mp3's on your card.

If you have it, use the software that came with your mp3 player to transfer
files.

True !

However, early versions of , for example, Phillips HD Jukebox came with
special software that had a DRM integrated into it. I have one, and can
transfer mp3's via XP Explorer and use the thing as a HD, but they don't
"play".

The poster doesn't say what type/make of player he has, I just suggested
another option.

Nowadays, if you buy a Phillips machine (or want to upgrade their proprietry
software), they have abandonned their own software (Java based and a cow to
make it work on XO) you have install/download some bloatware - MMJB. Which
is all very well if you like it. I don't. HOWEVER, to make it compatible
with the player, you also have to download a special plugin to handle the
DRM issue...... Life ain't simple !
