Ordinarily I don't allow anything to get through my machine;
naturally I get all kinds of message boxes. I've now set the Internet
zone default at medium security, disabled Script ActiveX controls
marked safe for Scripting, enabled download of signed Active-X
controls (so as to *not* get a security warning on everything), High
safety on Java Permissions, and enabled Active-Scripting.
In the past I disabled both Java Permissions and Active Scripting, and
*never* had any Active-X controls set to prompt, but would get the
annoying message box stating "Your current security settings prohibit
running Active-X controls on this page. As a result, the page may not
display correctly." This I could understand if I had it set to
*Prompt*. If you set it to prompt what happens? Does one get a bigger
warning message accompanied by a 40 piece orchestra and the blaring
of trumpets and timpani?
Thanks Frank, along with Holiday/New Years cheer to you.
