Since installing SP2 I get a pop up saying a firewall isnt installed. I have
got XPs disabled and Sygate firewall installed. I went into the security
control centre window and selected dont inform me but th epop up persists.
How do I turn this off?

I couldn't find a "don't inform me" check box.

In the Security Centre, have you clicked "Change the way Security Center
alerts me"? in the left-hand resources panel?

This has the option to turn off the warnings.

Yes thats what I meant! I have done that. Im not using an XP machine at the
moment to check the exact menu wording

When the popup balloon appears again, click on it. The next window will
inform you on what is/isn't currently activated. On the firewall setting,
click on "recommendations". In the next window you will have an option that
you already have a firewall installed that you will monitor yourself (or
something along those lines) HTH.

Hi

If the "Change the Way Security Center Notifies Me" doesn't stick
when you reboot, or you want to disable the Security Center totally,
you can do the following:

Start/Run --> services.msc

Find "Security Center" in the list, double click on it, set
"Startup type" to Disabled.
