Stopping background music for video clip

Hi All
Can someone please tell me, how do I stop background music from playing in a
presentation when im viewing a small video clip? Unfortanutly the background
music plays over the video clips which I dont want to happen as the video
clip is a music clip on its own.
Any suggestions.
