Stopping and Starting Audio Service in Vista

Hi!

Does anyone knows of any way to stop and restart the audio service in vista
so that I can get APO DLLs to be unloaded and replaced without needing to
reboot the system?

Thanks Thanks

Did you try Control Panel (classic view) | Admin tools | Services and then
Windows Audio and right click and STOP?

You can then right click again and choose START.

Yeh, Windows Audio and the one below it (can't remember what it's called but
that'll kill the audio as well).

Hi!

I've tried that, but seems like my APO DLL is still held by the svchost.exe
and not released from memory. I've used ProcessMon to check on this.
Currently, I had to stop another 4 other services in order to get my APO DLL
unloaded completely. Anyone knows any better way?

Thanks
