Stop scanning...

During the daily Microsoft Anti-Spyware system scan, the only way to stop it
is to abort. Wouldn't it be nice if there were a "Pause Scan" feature?

My major complaint in this area is that the only way I know it is scanning at
all is that I suddenly have major hard drive activity. There is no indication
that this is caused by Defender. It should display a task tray icon when it
is scanning with some indication as to what it is doing. This icon should
have a context menu that allows us to stop or pause the scan without having
to go to the start menu and run Defender just to get to a place where I can
click a stop button.

Bear in mind that the messages you are replying to are about an entirely
different product--beta1.

I would recommend that you set scheduled scans to be quickscans--this is
Microsoft's recommendation in the help for the product, and I agree with
their reasoning.
