Stop flagged emails from archiving

Hi and thanks in advance for assistance.
I flag many emails for follow up using the red flag.
Is there any way of preventing them being sent to archive folders?
I have to archive and I have to have flagged emails. Can the two work
together?

No, AutoArchive is unaware of the flags. You can set the property of a
message to "Do not AutoArchive".

Another alternative is to move the flagged messages to a separate folder and
exclude that folder from archiving.

Just curious, to what time span do you have your (Auto)Archive settings to?
I'm asking because normally the reasonable time period to take action to a
flagged item has been gone at the point that you rate similar messages from
that time span as "archive".
(I'm not stating that this is true for each and every case or that you are
doing something wrong here; just that it works that way for most people.)
