Stop Error X024

Upon reboot, XP Home will not load and I get the Stop
Error X024. I cannot boot into XP in any form, Safe Mode,
Last Known Good Config, nothing. Any suggestions on a fix
or at least on how to access my data files so that I can
save those before I format & reload XP?

Normally this error occurs, the file system is corrupted or corrupting.
You may be able to run a chkdsk /p /r from the recovery console, after
booting from the windows xp cd.
If this is successful, it should allow you in to back up your information.
