Stop Error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

After reinstalling Win 2K the following blue screen stop
iccurred. STOP 0x00000000A
(0xBAD0B0BC,0x000000FFx0x00000000,0x80416643)
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
What does this mean in layman's terms.
I can get round the immediate problem by uninstalling my
Pinnacle DV500 IEEE 1394 Bus host controller.
However every time I start up this reinstalls itself and
if I close down without unistalling again, then next time
I start up I get the stop error.
I do need the IEEE 1394 so how can I resolve the conflict?
I have checked I have the latest driver for my version of
this hardware.

John - The device manufacturer's tech support would seem to be a good
place to discuss this problem. Assuming you've gone through W2k's
Computer Management applets looking for clues. Device Management,
Conflicts, and so forth... You could try the MS KnowledgeBase too, see
what it has to say about STOP 0x0000000A errors. (careful about extra
zeroes there)

Dan - thanks for your reply. I found a good explanation
of stop errors on Microsoft Knowledge Base Article -
130802.
I think I have narrowed the problem down to something to
do with Win 2K - SP4 which I loaded recently. I believe I
read somewhere that it has changed the way it deals with
IEEE 1394 which is the device I am having problems with.
Trouble is I don't think Pinnacle are producing updated
drivers for my version of the DV500, but as you say the
discussion group there is the best place to take this
forward.
Again - thanks for your help.
