Please help, I don't want to continue messing up my computer so I'm seeking
good advice.
Specs: Windows XP Home Edition, SP2, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz, 224MB
Ram, IE
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The problematic drive is my E drive.
I usually boot into Win XP with my E drive (my hard drive is split into C
and E drive, both running in NTFS). The otherday, I encountered the BSoD Stop
error: 0x00000024 thus I couldn't boot XP using the E drive at all (not even
in Safe mode), so I booted using the C drive(Normal mode) and ran a chkdsk e:
/f. After restart, I was able to log in to E drive as per usual, but the
taskbar is missing (desktop icons still there)and I can't get into IE. Even
in safe mode, the taskbar is MIA(still talking about the E drive).
I'm afraid to run another chkdsk. I have tried performing disk cleanup then
defrag for both drives, but there was an error message that the E drive could
not be defragged properly. I checked eventvwr.msc and there were lots of
error messages that I can't make head or tails about.
Please point me in the right direction asap.
