Stop E-mail from Downloading??

Hi All,
When I click on a header on any newsgroup I get a message "Outlook Express
has not yet downloaded this message"
I can open only the ones I want to read and I think that is great.
My question is How do I get my E mail to do the same? If I click on an E
mail that I want to delete it opens. How can I stop all E mail from opening
and only the ones I want to read I can open?
Any help is appreciated.

Directions for Outlook Express: Turn off the Preview Pane. Click once on the
Subject line, then delete in the usual manner.

Prescreen and block Email http://www.mailwasher.net

Uncheck the Preview Pane.
(Do this while in a mail folder. The setting for mail and news is
independent.)
