Stop Administrator Opening

I have bought a laptop with Windos XP professional installed. It is to
be shared between myself and another user.

I've set up the appropriate accounts, but whenever we logon, the
computer goes into the Admin account rather than showing the Welcome
screen.

How can I change things so that it goes to the welcome screen and does
not open the admin account?

Thanks for the reply, but is there a way to do it without needing t
enter names and passwords?

All we want to do is be able to click on our user icons after startin
the computer. As it is at the moment, we have to log out of th
administrator account before we can see our account icons.

Why is the admin account opening anyway? Is this normal for X
Professional

Just put a check mark in the box Users must enter a username and password. You shouldn't have to enter any other information.

Thanks, Doug, but this didn't work. It seems the adminautologon was set
to on. Someone showed me how to turn it off, and the problem is now
fixed. Thanks.

I am having a similar problem with XP always logging on the Administrator
after a shut down or restart without asking for a password. How do I check
and change the adminautologon feature? Thanks.

Click Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 The check box for this feature will be there.
