stop 3 line tool bar from contracting to 2 lines

I have three lines of tool bar icons, etc. activated.
The tool bar keeps contracting to only two lines on its own and I must hit
'Home' after every activity before I get the full tool bar back. How do I
keep what i want to always be shown.

Your use of "Home" suggests you are using Word 2007, which has no toolbars,
only the Ribbon. To keep the Ribbon fully displayed, double-click on any of
the tabs or press Ctrl+F1.
