Since installing sp4 the laptop randomly blue screens
(today five blue screens in 3 hours).
Q824288 reads that the error occurs after installing sp4
with the dfs client turned off.
Another article states that dfs (distributed file system)
is a default Windows 2000 service but dfs is not listed in
admin/tool/services on the laptop and not on any other
workstation I have checked (5 & counting).
I did not archive sp4 files to revert back to sp3.
Can anyone help?

How did you determine that mup.sys is causing the Stop 0x0000001E?
Did you review the dump in the debugger?
