Still Stumped Lost All My New Mail Notification in Outlook 2003

Sorry to repost this but I am at my whit's end. I cannot get either my new
mail sound to work using Windows XP default scheme or now I cannot even get
the desktop notifier to appear. I am just seeking to troubleshoot this
problem. Has anyone else experienced it and what steps can I take to
troubleshoot? Could it be my .pst file is corrupted or something amiss with
Outlook settings or something with Windows? I have uninstalled,
reinstalled, done detect and repair but no luck yet. Your help is much
appreciated.

I have Win XP SP2 and Outlook 2003 SP1.

Have you tried reinstalling/updating the sound and/or video driver for your
hardware?

Have no newer updates that I can find. Thanks anyway though.

Lets try this another way, is the sound problem only isolated to hearing the
new mail notification? (e.g. All other sound events play, you tried the wav
files that ship with Windows, .etc)

You also verified that the checkbox to play a sound is checked at Tools |
Options | Prefs. tab | Email options button | Advanced Email Options?

Mail is coming in and there is something left in the Inbox? (items moved to
other folders won't trigger the desktop notifier (toast) dialog)
 
Gary, I am having the same issue with a few of my endusers. The sound
feature on the pc's works fine. However, the notification and sound in
Outlook do not. This is happening on both Windows 2000 and XP machines with
Outlook 2003. It is not something with the mail account as it the end user
can get notifications on a different system.
 
Same thing in my case. Thanks for confirmation Hope a solution is there
somewhere.

I found the answer on another posting here. They this.

Do any reminders work? Did you try the /cleanreminders and then the
/resetfolders switch?

Start menu, Run, type:
outlook.exe /cleanreminders
Ok
Repeat for /resetfolders if no reminders work.

Just a quick follow-up saying that this worked for me right after I did it
but after restarting Outlook, back to square 1. Still searching for a more
stable solution to this problem but will keep trying the suggestion.
