Still having trouble with IE 6 sp 2

Don,

You're right, the page that you directed me to describes all of the exact
symptoms of my machine--so I believe that I have nailed down the problem. A
HOSTS file.

But, the page is very confusing to me, and requires making changes that I am
not totally comfortable with. Any guidance or advice?

Hi,
A third-party is probably blocking that image/ad- maybe a HOSTS file. See:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm If not a HOSTS file, check the
settings of any other security, privacy, ad-blocking programs that are
running.

To Don, Frank, Jan and others that monitor this group---

Please disregard the preceding message above--I downloaded and installed the
freeware program HOSTS Manager---

Problem solved!!!

By turning on and off the HOSTS file with this program, 3rd party ads can be
viewed! This is a great program, allowing me to turn off and on the ads
that may interest me, just what I wanted the ability to do.

Thanks so much, you guys are great, and Jan here's one for you! :)
