Still having problems with shut down etc

Installed: Avast, Defender, Adaware, Spybot

Thanks DL for your help yesterday. Now have all the above installed and
still computer wants to shut down all the time.

Defender and Spybot say everythings fine.
Adaware can't complete the check - when it's running, Avast comes up with a
number of viruses - and I take the recommended action to move these to chest.
Adaware then shuts down.

my Avast is a free download. Would I be better off purchasing anti virus
software?

NB: Ensure you have turned off sys restore.
AVG is usually pretty good but if it keeps finding infections something is
wrong, and its not clearing the viri correctly.

Or perhaps try an online scan at eg Symantec.com or Kaspersky.com
