stickykey problems

We have a number of clients using WindowsXP Pro w/service pack 2 with no
problems. However, one client that has two networked machines has the
stickykey function coming on without asking for it. We have every field in
the accsessibility option turned off for it and seemingly no key combination
seems to turn it on, or back off for that matter. If they reboot, it clears
up. They may go two days or ten minutes and it comes on again, and not on
each machine at the same time. Is there some registry entry that may cause
it. They have no internet access so it does not appear to be a virus. No
particular application seems to be the culprit as they can be in Word, or
their accounting application, or any other when suddenly the case reverses
and they lose the numbers on the keypad and across the top, with the symbols
appearing instead. Any ideas?

To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type (or paste in): SFC /SCANNOW
