step by step procedure for Harddisk images

I would like to create Harddisk image of Windows XP machine and i wanna to
install that Windows XP image on the new harddisk and it is should install
the Windows XP OS within no time.Kindly provide me the necessary steps to
create Harddisk image.

Pick your third party software.
Follow your third party software's instructions on making disk/partition
images.
Follow your third party software's instructions on applying disk/partition

I use Acronis True Image 2009 which lets you clone a drive. Very easy.
