Hello,

When I open a new IE window by either using CTrl-N or
File, New Window, the status bar on the bottom of the new
window disappears. I have to click on View, Status Bar
in order for it to appear. Is there something I can do
to make the status bar a default function?

Thanks

I had the same problem and the way I resolved it was to
1. open a windows explorer windo
2. force it to show the status bar (View->Status Bar), then
3. Tools->Folder Options->Vie
4. Apply to All Folders butto

But, before you apply this you should know that by doing this all your windows will adopt the viewing style of the first (step1) window you opened. This means that if your viewing settings are set to e.g. details then all windows you open will be in this format. I am using XP Pro.
