status bar in Word has disappeared

The status bar in Word that shows (among other things) what page of my
document I am on has disappeared. How can I get it back?

Tools > options > view > check status bar

Tools > Options > View, then select Status Bar.
Something switches this off sometimes, and I haven't worked out what it is
yet!
