Static IP connection overriding second connection.

Please help, I have two nic cards, one is connected by a static IP, the other
card is set to automatically connect through a private IP connection which
connects to a network. The problem is, both connections will not work
simultaneously, the static IP connection is overriding the other connection
and the user is not able to access network drives or the internet. How can I
get the connections to work simultaneoulsy?

What are the IP address and subnet mask of each connection?

To work simultaneously, the two connections must have IP addresses in
different subnets.
