Since i have said yes to a internet program (apparently
needed to download software) i have been getting popups
every time i connect my lan. if i reboot with lan
connection there the popups come up straight away.

is there anything i can do to stop this?

i deleted the appropraite internet program, but it never
got rid of the ads.

I have tried running a spy bot, but it keeps bringing up
the same adware (something like Ameros.. cant remeber the
exact name as i am at work).

can anyone please help me out of this sticking point?

Many thanks

The only real solution is to be very careful about what you download from
the Internet and not to fall for tricks, which is apparently what happened
to you.

Online Spyware Scan
http://www.pestpatrol.com/Products/PestScan.asp

You can install spyware detection and removal software, however spyware can
be notoriously difficult to remove without damaging your system. Try these
popular applications:

Ad-Aware SE
www.lavasoftusa.com

Spybot Search and Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

You should read this:

GOOD NEWS!!

i had manually located the problem to the startup!
i have stopped the startup command from loading iexplorer,
BUT!!!
i still cannot remove this from regestry values as it does
not appear!!
ANYONE SUFFERING FROM BAD STARTUP COMMANDS SHOULD LOOK IN:
MSCONFIG command in the run menu!!
there you can stop the pests!!

PLEASE NOTE: no spyware had detected this, because
iexplorer is not spyware!! even though the homepage for
the startup iexplorer had been changed to advertisement
sites!!
