A program that crashed yesterday always seems to want to try and load on
startup.
Also myComputer launches on the application's folder, exactly as when I used
it yesterday.
Have used Startup Manager and it does not list any of these.
Is there a hidden XP gizmo that loads recently used programs, on startup,
and if so how do I clear it??

Sounds like spyware. Run Adaware or Spybot Search and Destroy, then run
Hijack!This.

XP seems to hold a list of opened programs or something at the time of the
crash yesterday. It even opens up myComputer to the exact folder etc on
startup.
Perhaps its in the registry but I must admit I cannot find it.
Am running XP Pro SP2, so not sure if it has these extra widgets to be
annoying! :))
