Startup tab in msconfig

When using the msconfig startup tab, are all the programs necessary for
windows to start? There seem to be a lot of references to programs listed in
there that I do not use very often or at all.

If I need to leave specific programs checked, is it possible to have a list
of these?

Near the middle, under "The Programs"
Click "Full List"
This will give a very comprehensive list and explain what each does as
well as if it is needed.
