Hello,
I recently installed Yahoo's Instant Messaging program and despite the
fact that I've "unclicked" the "run on startup," the program runs when I
turn on my system. I've gone through the Yahoo program and made sure any
and everything which starts ANYTHING is NOT selected and I've gone to their
help site with no luck.

I've opened my user>startup and made sure nothing with Messenger is there
and I've done the same thing with all users.

So, I guess what I'm asking is, is there some other place where a program
might start from within XP that I don't know about? And/or is anyone
familiar with Yahoo Messenger who can tell me, short of unistalling it, how
I can keep it from running on startup?

Thanks

In the run box,Type msconfig
This will bring you to the System Configuration Utility.
In the utility. Click the start up tab.
Look in this area for "ypager" and uncheck it.
click apply,ok and reboot.
When windows returns There will be a box that states
Do not show this on the next reboot, just put a check in the box. and your
done.

There are about a dozen. Go to sysinternals.com and download the free
Autoruns program to ferret them out.

Yes, but it doesn't show all the startups.
