startup problems

i have windows xp and when i restart my computer my
picture comes up for my desktop, but my icons or toolbar
are not coming up. this is only happening when i try to
log on using the system administrator. when i log in
under a regular computer user it log in just fine.
please help!

I'm having the same issue you are. Did you just install
any software? Against my better judgement I installed
one of these scanners to see if there was any spyware on
my computer and then when I restarted I was having this
problem. The reason I installed it was that I was having
a lot more pop-ups than ever before.

Please let me know if you've made any headway on figuring
out what's going on and I'll make sure to do the same.

Ditto for me too. I had to install a whole new user just
to get my computer to work. I did just install Ad-aware
6.0 and it found some files and I ask it to delete them
because of all the spam. It is a free spyware program. I
wonder if it was the cause?
