Startup problem

I am running WindowsXP Pro and when I boot the logon screen flashes on the
screen for less than a second, the selected desktop wallpaper flashes on the
display momentarily, and then the default wallpaper displays and, bingo, I am
signed on as "administrator." No password need be entered despite my
selections through the control panel. If I log off I am brought to the
Windows logon screen and must then enter a password to access the desktop. If
you don't mind working under the administrator account, you can have your way
with the machine. Any ideas on this?

1. Go to Start | Run and type in: control userpasswords2 | Ok.

2. On the Users tab, check the box that Users Must Enter A User Name And
Password To Use This Computer check box and then click OK.
