Startup options do not work

I have installed the latest version of the software but the option to enable
the antispyware agents to automatically load at boot up do not seem
effective. I have ticked the box and saved but on rebooting I have to
manually load the software to get the taskbar icon.

I put a shortcutLnk in the All users folder to get it to autoload but this
runs maximized, which is a pain.

Am I missing something? Or do these agents load up invisibly? They do not
appear in the process viewer startup items list either!

This is happening on both of my home computers which are fully patched.

Ian, try this.Start--All programs---MSAS(Defender)Right click---Change
Maximize to normal. This should take care of the maximized situation.

: Try these two solutions:
:
: You can repair Windows AntiSpyware using Add or Remove Programs in Control
: Panel. Click Microsoft AntiSpyware and click Change. Click Next, and then
: click Updªte.
:
:
: Then, try these steps:
:
: 1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> type in -> command)
: 2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quºtes).
: 3) Close and re-open Windows Defender.
:
: You can go ahead and do both of these--neither has any downside risk--and
: see if that does the jºb.
:
: Let us know whether it does, or nºt!

Ira, I think I might have mislead you by using the term maximised. I really
meant that the window opened on the desktop. However I have tried to do what
you asked as I have never seen the option "change" on my lists. In fact I do
not have the option "change" when I right click. I am using WinXP Pro.
Cheers,
Ian
